Clear, fair, and transparent – our 30‑point refund policy for digital products
1. Overview
At gnutheme, customer satisfaction is our priority. However, due to the digital nature of our products (GPL-licensed WordPress themes and plugins, PHP scripts, and digital assets), we have a specific refund policy that balances customer protection with the realities of digital downloads. This policy outlines when refunds are possible, the exceptions, and the process for requesting a refund.
This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made on gnutheme, including digital products, services, memberships, and subscriptions. Please read this policy carefully before making any purchase.
Important: By completing a purchase on gnutheme, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund Policy.

This Refund Policy applies to: All digital products purchased on gnutheme, professional services (web design, development, marketing), hosting services and domain registrations, membership and subscription plans, bulk purchases and custom orders.
This policy does not apply to: Products purchased from third-party websites, free products or promotional items, products purchased more than 60 days ago.
4. Digital Products Policy
All sales are final for digital products. Because our products are digital goods delivered instantly upon purchase, they are generally non-refundable. Once a product has been downloaded or accessed, we cannot take it back, similar to opening software or downloading a file.

5. Services Refund Policy
For professional services, refunds are handled differently: Deposits: non-refundable once work begins. Milestone Payments: completed milestones are non-refundable. Unsatisfactory Work: one free revision, then partial refunds based on work completed. Cancellation: before work begins may receive full deposit refund.

We may issue a refund or store credit in exceptional circumstances: Technical Errors (system fails to deliver within 48h), Duplicate Purchase (same product twice), Unauthorized Transaction (payment used without authorization), Product Not As Described (significantly different).

Not eligible: change of mind, compatibility issues, missing features, update availability, third‑party integrations, customization needs.

11. Refund Process
Approval notification → payment processor initiated → 3‑10 business days to appear → confirmation email → account adjusted (access removed if applicable).

14. Store Credit Option
We may offer store credit (110% of purchase amount) as an alternative. Benefits: no expiration, faster processing, non‑transferable.

Before download: contact immediately. Within 2 hours: generally approved. After 2 hours: treated as refund request. After download: not possible.
16. Duplicate Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the same product twice, contact us within 7 days. Full refund issued for one transaction. This is routinely approved.
17. Technical Issues with Downloads
Try troubleshooting (different browser, disable ad-blockers). If unresolved within 48h, we will issue a full refund.
18. Unauthorized Transactions
Contact us immediately, then your payment provider. If confirmed unauthorized, full refund issued. False claims may lead to account termination.
19. Chargebacks and Disputes
Filing a chargeback without contacting us first may result in account suspension, legal action, blacklisting. Please contact us first.
20. Reasons for Refund Denial
Outside 7‑day window, product downloaded, insufficient evidence, change of mind, compatibility issues not specified, multiple previous refunds, suspected fraud.
21. Appeal Process
Email appeals@gnutheme.com with "Refund Appeal - [Order Number]" and additional evidence. Reviewed by different team member within 5 days. Final decision.
22. Membership and Subscription Refunds
Monthly: cancel anytime, no refund for current period. Annual: pro‑rated refunds within 30 days of renewal. Lifetime: generally non‑refundable after access.
23. Bulk Purchase Refunds
Special conditions may apply; custom development work generally non‑refundable after work begins. Contact sales@gnutheme.com.
24. International Customers
Refunds in original currency; exchange rate fluctuations possible. Bank fees deducted. EU customers: 14‑day cooling‑off waived upon download.
25. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. EU, UK, Australian consumer laws prevail if inconsistent.
